Looking for last-minute Christmas presents for that hard person to shop for? A Handcrafted Holiday is a free family-friendly event that features carolling, crafts and card making at the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre Dec. 15 from 1-3 p.m.

Once you’ve designed your card, you can head to the historic Ewart Duggan House next door for a visit with jolly old Saint Nick and a chance to see this Victorian heritage home in all of its holiday splendour.

Watch a Holiday Movie

The Medicine Hat Public Library is showing free family holiday movies leading up to Christmas, starting with Arthur Christmas on Dec. 15 and continuing with Scrooged on Dec. 18 and The Star Dec. 22. All start at 2 p.m.

The Monarch Theatre is also showing the all-time holiday favourite, A Christmas Story, on Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Adults can purchase a glass of wine at the cash bar — a great way to relax after a day of shopping.
