From its history as a centre for natural gas production in Alberta and as the site of archaeological finds dating back to prehistoric times, Medicine Hat offers plenty for travellers to see and do when it comes to history, culture, and family fun.

Explore Medicine Hat by booking into our Medicine Hat hotel and see what things you can see, do, and experience in 2018.

For Coffee Lovers Only

Medicine Hat residents love their java, and that is no more apparent by the abundance of cafés that can be found in the city. Visitors staying at Medicine Hat accommodations can get their fill of caffeine by visiting one or all of Medicine Hat’s funky coffee houses, most of which are located downtown.

Grab a bag of roasted fair trade Arabica beans at the Madhatter Roastery or inhale the aroma and look at local art at Inspire Café, an art gallery/coffee house located in the historic Hargrave-Sissons Block.

For those with a Need for Speed

Experience the rush at the Medicine Hat Speedway. Only a short drive north along the Trans Canada Highway from the Comfort Inn and Suites, visitors can experience NASCAR-style stock car races, which take place from May to September.

A Festival for all Seasons

Medicine Hat Tourism lists a number of annual events and festivals that cater to families, music lovers, athletes, and those who love the rodeo.

Some to check out in 2018 include:

  • The Spectrum Sunshine Celebration, June 1 and 2 in Kin Coulee Park
